I’m not sure that Lois Tilton’s reading of the story fits the text; it certain doesn’t match my intentions, which of course is not saying much in the world of writing. The sense of beauty I was attempting to write about was meant to be abstract and somewhat alien, and not meant to suggest the cultural or physical aspects about which Ms. Tilton is concerned. But every reading of a text creates a new story, and every review is a lesson learned.
