I’m delighted to report that I’ve sold my fantasy short story The Wind Shall Blow to Beneath Ceaseless Skies. BCS is, in my opinion, the best secondary-world fantasy venue out there right now, and Scott Andrews and crew are always a delight with which to work. The Wind Shall Blow is the [read more…]

I’ve sold my novelette HigherWorks to Asimov’s Science Fiction.  Here’s a taste: On the far side of the crossing are two uniformed officers of the UK Immigration Service, conspicuously not cops courtesy of their berets and their semi-automatics. It’s with no small delight that I can announce that my short story The Telling has sold to the excellent Fantasy fiction website Beneath Ceaseless Skies.  It should be appearing sometime in the second half of 2012; more info coming as I get it.

The Sword & Sorceress series has been running since 1984, and over those years has been one of the few places to find strong [read more…]

My novelette “Slow Boat“, which originally appeared in the April/May issue of Asimov’s Science Fiction, will be reprinted in Russian in ESLI, Russia’s oldest Science Fiction and Fantasy magazine.  I’ll post more details here as I learn them.
